Meet the craft behind Jaipur's famous textiles. Sanganer, on the edge of the city, is known for hand-block printing and handmade paper. Bagru, further out, is known for its earthy dabu mud-resist prints.

The day, step by step
- 9:00 am Hotel pickup Sanganer is on the southern edge of Jaipur.
- 9:30 am Sanganer block printers Carved wooden blocks, bright dyes and long printing tables.
- 10:45 am Sanganer handmade paper See sheets made from cotton rag, pressed and dried by hand.
- 11:45 am Drive to Bagru Out along the Ajmer road, through farms and small villages.
- 12:30 pm Bagru dabu printing Mud-resist printing and natural dyes, a craft Bagru is known for.
- 1:30 pm Hands-on session (optional) Try printing a scarf or a napkin yourself. Ask ahead so it can be arranged.
- 2:30 pm Back in Jaipur Drop at your hotel, or at a bazaar if you want to shop.
