The day, step by step
- 8:00 am Hotel pickup An early start keeps you ahead of the heat and the tour buses.
- 8:15 am Hawa Mahal photo stop The façade faces the morning sun. Photos from the street, or from a rooftop café opposite.
- 8:45 am Amer Fort The palace courtyards, the Sheesh Mahal and the views over Maota Lake. Allow about two hours.
- 10:45 am Panna Meena ka Kund The criss-cross stepwell a few minutes from the fort.
- 11:15 am Jal Mahal The water palace in Man Sagar Lake, seen from the lakeside promenade.
- 12:00 pm Back at your hotel Or carry on into the afternoon with City Palace or the food drive.

Tickets are bought at each monument; I will tell you which ones your day needs.
Can we do this tour in the afternoon instead?
Yes, but Amer is hotter and busier after late morning. An early start is the better experience, especially from April to June.
What should we wear or carry?
Comfortable shoes for Amer's ramps and steps, water, a hat, and covered shoulders or a scarf for the temple inside the fort.
Can we combine it with another tour?
Yes. It pairs well with the Nahargarh sunset in the evening, with a rest at your hotel in between.
